Heifers and Mental Health

Guest Speaker Peter Milton: Peter is a next door neighbour to Raj Mavath in Balingup, this does not prevent  him from speaking to us …

Peter was born in Merredin in 1950. He started with Dalgetty's Stock and Station Agents before moving to Mobil Oil and then a roadhouse in Meekatharra and then farming with interests in Busselton, Donnybrook and Dardanup.

He had been involved in the Black Dog ride since 2010 and has helped raise over $100,000.

Peter used suicide statistics to tell the dire story of Australian male suicide. 45 men a week.

He is currently involved in driving a trailered heifer around WA to raise awareness among all groups, communities and towns about mental illness. Have a look at Clementine, the heifer's facebook page for updates on his journey.

Peter presents

Peter had many stories to tell that ranged from his involvement with Headspace, Clontarf Foundation, Parliament House, Iluka, Twiggy Forrest, RUOK Day and his endeavours at the moment to raise funds through the auctioning of one of his prize Angus heifers at the Royal Melbourne Show in September.

Ray Haynes – it's a long way to Kununurra.

Thin W – how do you manage the heifer on the road?

Vote of thanks by Kevin Watson.
