INTRODUCING JANIKA

Our next inbound exchange student, Janika is due to arrive at the end of July.

Janika Eronen is an 18 year old Finnish girl.  She comes from Outokumpu, on the eastern side of Finland.  Outokumpu is a small town of approximately 7,000 people.  The main industry is steel.

Janika is the eldest of three children, having two younger brothers.  Her mother Katja is a health care teacher and her father Veikko is a Research Assistant. 

Janika is passionate about music, and has played the violin in many concerts around Finland, as well as one in Russia.

Together with her family she loves to travel, enjoys sport and cooking.

In the past, Janika has been to Malaysia on a short-term exchange with Lions Club.  She spent two months with a host family, an experience she thoroughly enjoyed.

Janika is hoping her year on exchange in Geraldton develops her language skills, and together with learning a new culture and lifestyle, she is hoping to make many new friends.

Janika will be hosted by Jo Clarke for the first 4 -5 weeks and Steve Muir will advise the hosting arrangments for the remainder of the year when they are finalised.  If you wish to be included in his consideration please contact Steve as soon as you have discussed with your family.
