Donation to Camp Quality

My wife Helen and I were invited by Stuart and Karen Watson to attend a marquee at the Geraldton Races hosted by Onesteel. Stuie won a sweep in the marquee for picking the most winners and asked that the proceeds be donated to Camp Quality via our Rotary Club.

The amount raised was $106.60.

Leanne's Trench

I attended a meeting of the Rotary Club of Batavia Coast at which a cheque for $1,500 was handed to Chris Cox for the Leanne's Trench Project some of us attended a couple of weeks ago. The amount raised was a little less than $600 and their Board agreed to increase the amount by way of additional donation.

Men Against Violence Breakfast

This morning I attended the Men Against Violence Breakfast hosted by Chrysalis at the Gerald Club. We were addressed by our own Grant Woodhams who facilitated the meeting and Paul Brown MLC Member for Agriculture who spoke of his own experience of domestic violence in his family.

Those who attended were asked to sign a personal pledge to not commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women, these will be placed on display to help promote the cause. And of course, wearing of the white ribbon displays this pledge and today is the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

The Three Musketeers!

"It sounds like....."

As I speak there is a March Against Violence walk happening down town where some of those from this morning will be participating.
